The Blog https://beckchris.wordpress.com/ is should not be disregard.

Thank you!

Giotto's Scrovegni Chapel will undoubtedly be feautured on my top-most list as soon as I can get back around to revisiting and evaluating it. I had never seen Bryan Kent Ward's Entheogenic Garden of Eden, but it looks promising and I will ensure that I give it the proper time and evaluation as soon as I can. I am familiar with the Monet and the very famous Chardin -- thank you for sharing them. What do you find significant about the abstract art of Lu Jun?

Though I do work hard at my lists, evaluations, and any analyses I write/post, Piero Scaruffi's work is much more significant than mine. He is the source of a good portion of my more obscure discoveries over the years and I am greatly indebted to his website and recommendations in many ways. Here: http://scaruffi.com

For an explanation of my ratings and rankings, my criteria can be read here, including my correlations to Scaruffi's selections: https://www.besteveralbums.com/phpBB2/v...hp?t=15503

Lu Jun - Consumption Century No 1. I'm sorry that I can't remember anything about this work. I'm a alzheimer patient.

For the works is online existing of Lu Jun, I think many art lovers found the materials like me. His painting had spiritual chinese depth, intense desire to live and a little surreal.

Thank you for shared to me your criteria for art. I think is a excellence criteria and other music fans use for them to make their lists. I think your influence on the internet for netizens around the world and the music world is nothing less than Robert Christgau on the maintream music.

I'm also a internet student of Piero Scaruffi. He is a great teacher of mine (although I've never met him). But I'm sorry that I haven't found his criteria before. Perhap tomorow I will visit his site again.

I appreciate the kind words even if I don't quite know what to say about it Smile

I really hope they find a cure for alzheimer's one of these days.

I am quite certain I am not nearly that influential (unless you actually meant Scaruffi, then I could agree), but I am glad you appreciate and enjoy my work. Thank you for your insight into Lu Jun. I will look into his work!

For anyone interested, particularly Scaruffi enthusiasts or the like...

I get asked a lot about my ratings/rankings correlations with Scaruffi. For every 100+ Albums/Classical Works/Films/Paintings that I would owe to his recommendations/lists, I occasionally come through with finding a great work/masterpiece that he has missed (more with paintings than any other art) and I return the favor by recommending these to him. Some weeks ago I recommended Werner Tubke's greatest works -- Reminiscences of Judge Schulze and Peasants War Panorama -- which he thanked me for and wanted to look them over for further evaluation. He has now added "Judge Schulze" to his historically significant art works of the 60s, and it can be seen as featured on this brand new "Art and Music in the 60s" list, linked near the top of his home webpage: http://scaruffi.com

Neat! That's pretty cool that you have correspondence with someone you seem to admire. BTW if you type in that painting and do a google image search, nearly all the results come back to your posts here.

Thank you, it was a fortunate, difficult find years ago, and it seems it is only recently gaining some steam as a historically great one. Tubke's works, in general, too (he has been greatly underestimated and underappreciated prior to recent uptrends in his favor).

I admire Scaruffi's views on art the most, as they seem to derive from what are the fundamental determining factors of all great art throughout history and in all its forms. Along with this, I naturally enjoy and admire his selections because I agree with them so often -- and no matter how many times this happens it never ceases to surprise me how accurate, consistent and logical his conclusions are in relation to all echelons of his list. I know of no other critic (or the like) that I feel has accomplished such a thoroughly logical demonstration of his/her art ratings/rankings. Outside of art, I am mixed on my opinions of his views in various other endeavors, but I admire anyone that seeks to think outiside of the box (whether I agree with their thinking or not), and Scaruffi is no exception. All my favorite artists and art have this in common. Most of them (Beethoven, Michelangelo, etc) were difficult, challenging people with their faults, but with extraordinary gifts and talents and intuitions, and were way ahead of their time. Scaruffi is, in a sense, their equivalent from a "critiquing" perspective. Just an analogy -- contrary to what Scaruffi might say, I disagree that the critic is the true artist, as the art always comes first, was imagined/expressed/viewed first through its creation and completion. In other words, I consider all my favorite artists much superior in importance to any critic/historian of the field, though both can have their place -- the artist much more often than the critic. Most critics, especially mainstream/non-independant ones, do not add value to the field, imo. Scaruffi is a refreshing exception (doesnt mean I think he is without fault).

In fact I've influenced by Scaruffi and you (especially your criteria) fors years, and yours is more strongly than Scaruffi. I'm so glad to talk with you on the this site.
According to me, you and Robert Christgau is two geniuses who strongly influence to the music scene, in the past and future. Although Robert Christgau more strongly influence in only music but your influence is out of the music field and used for other fields (like visual art, movies, and more...).

Thank you, I really like your music chart on this site as it has several favorites of mine, especially your Classical selections. You may enjoy my "Greatest Classical" and "Best Classical Recordngs" lists (links below this message), if you aren't familiar with them already. I appreciate your kind words and look forward to further insights and conversations.

Hi everybody. I'm back for some art work:

Some works is missing (and my rating) next:

Las Meninas - Diego Velázquez - (9.7) - (the correct score of this art work is sure to be higher than my rating).

Kirchner - "Bridge at Wiesen" (8.5):
https://arthive.com/artists/1692~Ernst_..._at_Wiesen

Kirchner - View of Basel and the Rhine (8.75):
https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/..._Rhine.jpg

Leonora Carrington - On the Tomp (the title could be incorrect) - the picture on top of this page (9.2):
http://www.thedoublenegative.co.uk/2015...arrington/

Leonora Carrington - The House Opposite (8.8 )
https://biblioklept.org/2012/12/23/the-...arrington/

Leonora Carrington - The Magical World of the Mayas (9.3):
https://nowheretostay.blogspot.com/2017...ngton.html

Leonora Carrington - Temple of the World (8.3 ) - the third picture from top:
http://visualmelt.com/Leonora-Carrington-1

Note that: the rating's method of mine is different with Afterhours.

If you've never visit "Make List, Not War" Blog, what a pity. Because that blog listed the most highly-regarded works about visual art and other areas - music, movies, architecture, literature, science, tech, great peoples, history and more, and more, and more...

++++

And I'm going to research about two art works : "Arnolfini Portrait" by Jan van Eyck, and "American Gothic" by Grand Wood. I will post about them if I get the result.

++++

@ Afterhours: I've read your two Classical Music lists and I'm going to use them for my work. Thank you!
