"Heavy Metal Drummer" is really fun to play at parties.

I've only recently heard this album referred to as "experimental," and that was pretty surprising to me, but I had been familiar with the songs for a while before I heard the album. Is there any context for that claim, or is it purely an opinion?
Also, I'm not really complaining, but they played 7 out of the 11 songs on here live last Saturday, which I understand, yet it would be great to hear them playing more songs from their less popular albums.

I think it's moments like bookends of "I Am Trying to Break Your Heart," or the end of "Poor Places," or the second half of "Reservations." Also, there are layers and pieces that are really subtle, but that make all the difference. Seriously. Yankee Hotel Foxtrot is so sonically rich, but it's easy to miss under the songwriting.
Anyway, I love this record. I hear new things every time I listen to it. It's perfect.

I have a love hate relationship with this band.
This record is phenomenal and their songwriting is broad and deep, but somehow I only see what's on the surface (for other albums, especially the double album (name escapes me).
But again, this record is a great listen.

I think "experimental"is in context the time when it came out. Many of the songs have very familiar riffs (etc.) but these are jarred by blasts of feedback and other intercessions. I wouldn't really call this experimental. I'd call Animal Collective experimental. _________________ Top Canadian songs, keyless entry remotes, home care, whatever...

This is one of many albums that I really got into thanks to this site. All the love for this album by real users (not hipper-than-thou music critics) made me give this a spin. Loved it ever since. _________________ Top Canadian songs, keyless entry remotes, home care, whatever...
