IT'S OPENING DAY WHO'S READY FOR SOME BASEBALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL
On the real though, I don't think my Orioles are gonna do much this year (they could totally be the worst team in the AL, who knows), but I'm still pumped to watch them. They're gonna hit a ton of home runs and strike out a billion times, but it'll be fun. _________________ 2023 Chart

I think the Orioles will be a mid-level team. Not a real contender but not a real failure.
As for my Giants, it's hard to imagine any result but our 4-peat on even years. While that's mostly me joking, I think if we stay relatively healthy (we're not that deep off the bench at most positions) that the upgrades we made to our pitching staff and hopefully continued performance from Duffy (yay so far!) and Panick (eh so far) will be enough to carry us back.
My playoffs picks would be:
AL East: meh, no one stands out at all here. I'll take the Blue Jays, but the Red Sox could well cobble together a more successful team than I'm expecting.
AL Central: Hard to believe the Royals won't repeat.
AL West: I'll take the Astros and the Rangers are probably coming in second here, but look for the A's to challenge this year. It's always a bit hit or miss with them depending on their young talent and I think they could well have a good year.
AL Wild card 1: Rangers
AL Wild card 2: Indians. A team that's had all the parts and just hasn't gotten them to mesh yet that I think could really finally have that year. Though again the Red Sox could well be here instead, I just have no idea at all what to expect out of them.
NL East: 5 or 6 years ago, I would've been shocked for this to be as competitive a division as it's become, and it's basically a crapshoot between the Mets and the Nationals, but I'll give it to the Mets pitching staff because that rotation is unfair.
NL Central: The Cubs had their chance last year, maybe this year will be even better for them. Maybe not, but I don't see a real competitor in the division. Cardinals could be an irritant, but they've had such problems staying healthy and/or consistent of late I'd be a bit surprised.
NL West: I really do think the Giants will have a great year, but this may be down to the wire against the Dodgers. Kind of hoping the Dodgers do well (that hurt to say) just for the sake of an exciting final series for Scully to call between the Giants and Dodgers.
NL Wild card 1: Nationals
NL Wild card 2: Dodgers
Barring injuries, I'd say a Giants Royals WS (again). I think the NL will win almost regardless, and that the Giants, Cubs, and Mets are all stronger teams than any in the AL but for maybe the Royals. _________________

I think the O's will be competitive. I could see them finishing anywhere from 2nd to 5th in their division. Everyone in that division has major question marks.
The AL is interesting. There's not really a team I can think of that has no chance of competing for at least a WC spot. Maybe the A's, but they always find a way.
AL EAST
Blues Jays
Red Sox
Orioles
Yankees
Rays
AL CENTRAL
Royals
Indians (WC)
Twins
Tigers
White Sox
AL WEST
Astros
Rangers (WC)
Mariners
Angels
A's
Meanwhile the NL is going to be about a handful of elite teams dumping on some really terrible ones. The Mets, Nationals, Cubs, Pirates, Cardinals, and Giants all look better than pretty much any team in the AL aside from the Royals. And the Dodgers and Diamondbacks could both be very good. I think the Mets and Nationals will make the playoffs by benefitting from the terrible Braves and Phillies teams they'll play a lot. Likewise, those central teams will beat on the Brewers and Reds. So chances are the West won't produce a WC team, because they're all far more evenly matched, especially if the Rockies get any pitching.
NL EAST
Mets
Nationals (WC)
Marlins
Phillies
Braves
NL CENTRAL
Cubs
Pirates (WC)
Cardinals
Brewers
Reds
NL WEST
Giants
Diamondbacks
Dodgers

Bought a Yankees jersey because it's more aesthetically pleasing than the Mets' jersey. Feel like a bit of a creep, though. _________________ 2021 in full effect. Come drop me some recs. Y'all know what I like.

I'd for sure switch the Cardinals and Cubs.
I do love where you have the Padres... _________________ May we all get to heaven

hahaha. I knew something didn't look right, but it's probably where the Padres belong anyway. That team is a mess.
As for the Cards and Cubs (and Pirates). Those three teams are gonna be a dogfight. I'm going with the Cubs because I think they've got incredible lineup depth and the best manager in baseball. I would love to see the Pirates take it, but i'm not sure the back end of the rotation is strong enough. And I see the Cards being plagued by injuries again. _________________ http://jonnyleather.com
