Kurt Cobain spoke highly of this album, and with good reason. This is arguably the album that started grunge music, and it remains one of the genre's best. It is a timeless classic, and it doesn't feel like it's aged a day. My personal favourite part of the album is the 1-2-3-4 punch of "Gigantic", "River Euphrates", "Where Is My Mind?", and "Cactus".

I'm a big fan of the first 4 songs. This album is full of demented raw energy paired with unconventional but catchy melodies. I once spent an evening with this album and a bottle of rum, tapping at my frustrations, and releasing them through the primal stomps, dadaist giggles, and unhinged abrasiveness.

My top album from 1988, although not many good albums released that year ! No 19 in my overall top 100, just behind my favourite Pixies LP 'Doolittle'.
