This is best ever albums, a site generally evaluating albums which didn't really exit until the wider distribution of recorded music in the early 50s and in popular music didn't really become a standard art form until the early-mid 60s besides jazz musicians (the kind of 20th century, american classical music some would say) and the recorded works that exist in the genre besides from some modern classical albums are almost musicians performing long-dead composer's compositions. It's not that people may not listen to it, it just makes sense it wouldn't show up on a site that mainly discusses the modern album as an art form, not general discussions about musical works across the ages- and not that it hasn't been discussed at all either. I have some Dvorak and Vivaldi cds I love, but wouldn't think of putting them on, say, a 90s chart.

Also, I remember discussing classical music on BEA with the Poe at a time and personally that may have turned me off discussing the genre on BEA for good.

I do agree with you that the "album" in it's most currently used, exact definition exists as of then and as you've stated. But, programmatic/conceptual based music works were invented by Classical music, and recordings have existed far in advance of Rock music's inception: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Historica...recordings ...and... http://www.classicfm.com/discover-music...ecordings/ ... Addition to this, most innovations in Rock were preceded by Classical music. In short, this site should honor its own history! Plus, modern recordings of Classical works are "albums" in their own right anyway, and certainly qualify for the "best ever" part of the site!

Technically 3 - So you'd have 3 weeks to prepare Smile. No pressure, but if you want to sign up for the 29th, just say so here: https://www.besteveralbums.com/phpBB2/v...mp;start=0

I thought it nice. Haven't seen that one.

Is that snow, fog, or ? Quite beautiful.

Off the rails a bit - anyone know where dividesbyzero's signature is from... that one is quite picturesque as well.

I like listening to classical music. Actually, I used to pretty much only listen to classical music until I decided to look for some good modern music (that's how I discovered this site). Now I listen to mostly "modern" (last 60 years) music, but I still enjoy Classical. Strangely, listening to newer artists somehow made me appreciate Classical music more, even if I now listen to it less. Think
