Does anyone know how to search for artists and/or releases that have been entered into the site using non-Latin characters? (Greek, Japanese, and so on)

Thanks!

thanks for reporting and it's definitely an issue at the moment.

By way of explanation, there are quite a few levels to this problem, so here's how BEA currently handles things.

Some albums have a title in brackets in the Latin character set, and a search for the transliterated text will work correctly e.g. cliff of dream (this is the recommended workaround for those albums that do have a manual transliteration)

夢ノ崖 (Cliff Of Dream) by Takami

******

Other albums can be transliterated to Latin automatically from a related character set e.g. searching for kolnar kvold will return the following the album:

Það Kólnar í Kvöld… by Rökkurró

******

However, other albums that are in completely different alphabets e.g. Russian, Japanese, Chinese etc cannot be transliterated automatically as no equivalent Latin character exists, and if there is no manual transliteration in brackets, searching using the native characters does not currently work e.g. わたしを断罪せよ (album 53312). I will investigate this issue and try and make a fix. Please bear with me while I do this.

わたしを断罪せよ by Nobuyasu Okabayashi

(if you know the album id, you can search using this as well, but it's not particularly convenient)
