|
Which album and artist is the best one-hit wonder ever?
This is the most amazing thing ever. Both of my favorite one album wonders are named Spring. One was a duo of Beach Boy Brian Wilson's wife Marilyn and her sister Diane. It was produced by Brian Wilson, largely, and has great songs specially written for them by Brian Wilson, Mike Love, Dennis Wilson and Carole King. GOOD songs. They had to change their name to American Spring after the albums release because of a conflict with my OTHER favorite one album wonder, the English prog rock group Spring. They supported VELVET UNDERGROUND on a UK tour, believe it or not, and then broke up. Its a cool album. A little bit like Moody Blues or something. Very.prog rock-y.
Anyone else ever heard these albums??

Off the top of my head, I was going to say Mary Margaret O'Hara with Miss America:

... ... but then I checked and apparently several years later she released a motion picture soundtrack to "Apartment Hunting" and an EP. However if we're not counting those as proper albums... _________________ Best Classical

Mic Christopher springs to mind. He made one beautiful album that sadly had to be completed posthumously. He died tripping on a step and hitting his head.

This is another fantastic one album wonder (thankfully it was only artistic differences that ended their short career).
