So I have started keeping track of changes in the lower region of the top 1000 list and this week (today) an historic event occured as Peter Gabriel's Us left the chart for the first time in history as far as I can detect. But I do my trackings every wednesday and noticed today that my scribblings doesn't entirely coincide with the ones given by the chart history and I might have the answer to that already, but still I ask: what is last week? 7 days ago, or week #30? What should be my preferred weekday to do my detections? PS maybe this weeks album should be this weeks climber? To broaden the topics for discussion, if only.

Last week is always 7 days ago (as not using week numbers for this), so all days are pretty much the same and there isn't a preferred day. I did publish some movers data to the Music forum at the start of August which was heavily based on what you'd requested a few weeks back at the beginning of this thread & I'm going to post some more data at the start of September and we can see what kind of debate it generates. I think most people seem happy to do their own thing with the data, but agree some kind of commentary around it might be useful.

I have used the list that you provided for me, or gave me: https://www.besteveralbums.com/overall_...mp;page=50 (thank you!) every wednesday for some time now and have kept track of newcomers and outgoers from the top 1000 best albums according to BEA. I've noticed that it is very unusual that albums on the top 800 drops out of there. but the issue today is that it shows that one week ago every album was in position zero. very saddening for me buhu of course.

thanks for spotting, I'll investigate that. The server was migrated to more powerful hardware about a week ago, so it looks like a glitch. I'll remove any bad data from the system which should fix the problem.

I was about to mention AlbumMaster usually posts really cool analytics about the movements of albums... and then it goes that direction in the thread anyway .
