It bugs the hell out of me how any music with even the slightest difference from some other record is immediately given a new name as if it's it's own genre. This has gotten out of control. And now they're doing it to music of the past. Mistakenly thinking it was called that back when it was made.Or that It was considered it's own genre. I dont mean that the music itself is dumb or bad, just the names they give them.

Math Rock
Ethereal Wave
Crust Punk
Vaporwave
Bro-country
Neo-traditionalist country
Nintendo-core
Baggy
Chamber Pop
Nu- step
Hardstep
Dark Rock
Post-grunge
Post-dubstep
Noise Pop
Future disco
Nu-disco
Thrashcore
Electroclash
Hardbag house
Handbag house
Bro-step
Screamo
Post-post-punk
Groove Metal
Liquid Funk
Glitch Hop
Grindcore
Loungecore

Hell if I know, and I listen to a lot of bands in the genre. I think it's "Guided by Voices-fi" (as in, lo-fi, hi-fi, GbVfi?)

The fact that I don't even know what the genre means shows how stupid it is.

That's funny. I agree. I hate that there are so many subgenres to stuff. It gets way to confusing when trying to describe some piece of music to someone. We need a definitive list of all genre without goofy subgenres. I constantly get genres mixed up or don't know what they are.

Your list is lacking the essential "Crabcore" genre.

i'm in the minority, i suppose, but personally, i like the subdivisions.

granted, on the surface, it might all sound the same, but the ones in your list that i'm familiar with are pretty distinct, and there are enough artists exploited the terms that i think they're valid and helpful.
