This is only a test. Do not adjust your keyboard. This is only a test.

We will rejoin the What Song are you listening thread, already in progress, after this test.

Please vote for the best video. If you don't like any of them I am sorry but I'm old and feeble.

O.K. here we go again. Over 40 views and only 1 person other than myself has voted.

I retested and did it like people said I should and still there is no interest in a best music video's tournament.

So obviously there would be no point in taking the time to do one.

You are right and I will give this more time.

I want to see if anyone says something like they can't view a video or 2 or 3 of them.

Because it's not going to really work or be fair if in some countries they are not even able to watch certain videos for a video that can be seen by everyone everywhere would have a huge advantage IMO.

But I hope that this will work Pray

To be honest I had a hard time choosing 1 of these 5 videos and am second guessing my vote a bit

AND I POSTED THEM Laughing

I wonder what people look for in a great video, what is it that makes it great?

When MTV first came on the air they actually were a music TV channel and played nothing but music videos 24 hours a day. No reality shows, just videos. Life was good Very Happy

Back then the quality didn't matter because it was all new to us and my friends and I were glued to MTV no matter what video came on or how cheesy it was. Laughing

IMO though, huge advances in technology and the massive amounts of time and money spent
on making music videos has not made them any better.

Consider the cost of Michael Jackson's Scream video for example. It really wasn't that good. But he spent, in today's dollars, over $10,000,000 making the video Shocked

What about Madonna? She spent over $9,000,000 making her Express Yourself video and $6,100,000 for her Die Another day video.

MC Hammer's Too Legit To Quit video, $2,500,000

Kanye West's Stronger video $1,300,000 and Touch The Sky cost $1,100,000

Now, compare that to the videos back when MTV first came out and artists made videos very quickly and cheaply.

Here is one from 1983 that is great. Personally, I would much rather watch this video than Michael Jackson's Scream video which cost over $10,000,000 to make.

This one cost like only less than 1% of that to make Laughing

But watching Sting and the look on his face is worth that alone and is cool IMO.

This may surprise you. I'm sure that everyone knows that music videos were not just made starting in 1981 with MTV.

And that there were music videos made in the 1970's and even 1960's.

But, did you know that they made music videos in the 1930's Shocked

Here is one of them it is a music video from 1930 Very Happy

Crying For the Carolines - (He starts singing at 2:15 of the music video)
