Well, Mercury prize shortlist was announced today (albums above). The winner is annouced in September, etc...you know how it goes.
Just wondering what album you think will win this year. I'm going for PJ, a previous winner. But I'm also thinking it could be Adele, with the crazy sales. Surprising amount of pop in the list.
I'll come back to this when the winner is announced as see if we were right.
(Vote for who you think will/should win)

I voted for James Balek. Just taking into account what the mercury prize is like, this seems logical.
Elbow are my favourite but have already won and Adele has a great album but success doesn't mean in a win in this prize.

PJ Harvey – Let England Shake will be my guess. Seems landmark enough for them to give the prize.
I have a bad feeling they will hand it to James Blake or Tinie Tempeh (Oh yes they will!) though.

Probably Adele.
I hope Tempah dosen't win. Why is british rap so crap? Only good one I ever heard was The Streets.

James Blake, although the album isn't as good as any of the three EPs he released previously it's still a quality album..

Anna Calvi will win this one
I correctly predicted last years winner
PJ Harvey would have easily won this if she hadn't already won this award ten years ago.
