Also, on the repetition, I do believe lots of the classical phrases were simply not worth repeating. I think Brahms for example would have a difficult time writing for a rock band...

Easily one of the great melodies in the history of music. That third movement alone was one of the great catalysts in my developing a love of Classical music back in my late 20s. It remains a favorite to this day; I never, ever tire of it. Sublime magnificence!

Out of the seven studio albums released by Curtis Mayfield between Curtis and There's No Place Like America Today, each one is a stone-cold classic, and he should be in the top 20 artists of all-time.

But on this site, three of those don't even crack the top 20,000 Crying or Very sad

Love that run of Mayfield albums. Slightly controversial: I rank No Place Like America Today and Got To Find a Way over Roots and Back to the World.

I prefer White Light/White Heat personally. Does that qualify as a controversial opinion??

No I'm totally the same, Velvet Underground followed by White Light White Heat and then the Velvet Underground and Nico. WLWH gels together better than VUAN. European Son could easily been left off the later.

Sure, sometimes I just don't get refined sense of humor, as i'm not a native english speaker (I thought I got it wrong with the band albums order)

edit : but the first album is so majestic and tense (Nico's voice, John Cale music...). Makes it really special
