There's nothing I know of in mainstream music that hasn't been done before. Just combing artist A with artist B. Bass music and guitar shreds are the closest to something new... But then again not really

Been thinking, where the fuck do I know those two from? From the back of my mind, wasn't that the two who had bottles of piss hoyed over them at a festival many years back? (checks interwebs...yes). Ok so Tap and Young Punk says their new stuff is good, I will listen!

It's important to note that innovation is not synonymous with invention.

Necessarily implicated in the meaning of the word is a process of practical application and perhaps a lasting impact on the status quo as well.

So, one could invent something that fails to innovate. But innovations do not require invention.

Chris Janson was the right person to close out last night's Academy Of Country Music Awards show.

God bless you and him always!!!

Holly

P.S. I just wish that he had been able to finish the song and it would've been nice if his being the newest member of the Grand Ole Opry had been mentioned when he was introduced too. (Can I asked who it is that decided on the show's host?)

what does this mean exactly? it's practically applied by nature of existing. and then for the whole influence threshold, people just arbitrarily raise or lower it depending on what they care about, it's bs

The new method, idea or device has to be applied by others and alter the status quo in some notable fashion.

I'm not saying innovation is nicely measurable, just that it doesn't happen by virtue of the new thing existing. If a given system is not altered by it, then nothing has been innovated.

but isn't what you're saying basically meaningless and could be contorted at will to fit whatever narrative you prefer? like where is the line, at what point is something successful enough to where you can say "you know what, that thing actually was innovative"? if my significant other does a piece of music that is fresh and new, at what point can I throw a party for them with a "Congratulations on Your Innovation!" banner? "when the system is altered enough", like what the hell does that even mean. if the system alters again do we have to revisit something and potentially revoke its innovation badge? lol this word is stupid
