I used to use topsters to create my list but they seem to be down now. My friend recommended BEA to me the other day, and here I am.

Followed a link to a users' chart, can't remember who, I think I googled something along the lines of top 100 new wave albums.

I did a search for best albums of 1978, and a link to this site came up. This is a really cool site.

I was looking for info on where to start with some bands (googling XX best albums) and end up here a couple of times doing that.
At first I didn't understand jackshit (lots of best album lists) but then I read the 'how it works' label and thought it was a cool way to do this best-albums-thing.
I love the site because it made me relisten to a LOT of music and also find stuff that I never gave an ear before.

I joined over two years ago. My music intake was at a low. Wasn't listening to much, and not very impressed by what I was listening to. So I wanted both a database of albums, and a source of good recommendations at the same time. Went web browsing and found BEA fit the description. So I joined. Glad I did.

Someone I follow on twitter for reasons totally unrelated to music (hockey, to be a little bit of a Canadian stereotype) talked about doing a listenthrough, in order, of the top albums on the chart here.

I fell down the rabbit hole quickly.

I was Googling something like "Ranking the Panic! at the Disco albums" and found this site

Googled "Led Zeppelin albums ranked" and was immediately sucked into the site. I was reading through the comments on all of my favorite artists' albums, and found that there was a certain user who had commented on every single one of them, and quite eloquently at that! The prospect of finding people who share my interests in music was what really drew me in, because I hardly know anyone in real life who does. So suffice it to say that I look forward to spending time here!
