Came here right when the site started and there were no user charts used at all. I have checked it out over the years for how certain albums are critically rated. It has changed since user's own charts have been used more and more and now dominate (are used exclusively?). I feel it's now less reliable on the critical appreciation and is more about popularity. And a certain defined popularity: the users of this site. But I still find it useful, particularly as a guideline to which album is most owned, listened to, appreciated in an artist's output.

I got to this page because it has a great database and their users get to choose which albums are the best. As simple as that.
