Being a Panthers fan is so frustrating. We finally fired Mike Shula about a season too late, but whatever at least hes gone now. Not sure how I feel about Norv Turner taking over Shula's position but I guess we'll see how well he can adjust to Newton's strengths. Cam is a whole different beast than Phillip Rivers or Troy Aikman. We have way too much talent on this roster to keep coming up short time and time again. We need to capitalize while we still have the talents of Olsen, Davis and Kuechly as i'm not sure how much longer they'll be playing. We're wasting Newtons prime.
I honestly hope New Orleans just goes ahead and wins the Superbowl this season and it results in Brees' retirement. I love his play but the NFC south has too many star QB's as is.

With that said, my Divisional Round predictions:
TEN 10
NE 38
This is the only game this weekend I'm 100% confident who will win. The Titans simply aren't very good. They were lucky to get in the playoffs. They pulled a huge upset Saturday just to be in this game. It would be the NFL upset of the year decade if they pulled off this one.
JAX 13
PIT 17
It's gonna be frigid and low-scoring in Pittsburgh on Sunday. This will be great game with two of the most balanced teams in the NFL (both teams rank in the Top 6 in offense and defense). I'm going with the Steelers because they're usually good for at least one win every postseason. But I wouldn't surprised if the Jags won.
Tilly, who do you think will win? |
I only follow the AFC. I really couldn't say who has the better chance in the NFC and likely won't even watch those games. I think your AFC predictions are right on, although I can see Pittsburgh running away with it. Pretty pumped to see the game tomorrow night!!!
Go Pats!!!

Wow who would have thought Jacksonville would make it to the AFC championship game this year. They looked good today, however I don't believe they will be much of a match for the Pats. I think Pittsburgh had the best odds of avoiding another Pats Superbowl. The AFC honestly was a joke this year.

I wouldn't underestimate Jacksonville. They're pretty solid all-around.

Ah, that wasn't clear and I missed it.
Uh, nobody in that case. Jacksonville's been bad for a while and came out of nowhere this year.

Wow what a game! Even though I stated I wouldn't mind a New Orleans superbowl just in hopes of Brees' retirement, I can't help but smile at a heartbreaking end to the Saints season

It was 21-20, New Orleans leading, late in the fourth quarter. Mercury nearly nailed not just the winner, but the exact score too. But then the craziness of the final two minutes happened. All I can say is 'wow.' They'll be talking about the ending of this game for years to come.
Overall it was pretty exciting Divisional Round. Every game was close except one. Let's see if we'll get an equally exciting Conference Championship weekend.
We've already heard Mercury's predictions:

You gotta change your NFC Championship prediction now cause neither of these teams are in it
My predictions:
JAX 27
NE 31
The Patriots shouldn't overlook the Jaguars. They may lack playoff experience, but certainly not talent or confidence. It'll be a close, hard-fought game, but I'm not predicting the upset. Although I could see it happening.
MIN 20
PHI 23
This will a great game too. A little bit lower-scoring due to these dominant defenses. The Eagles defense will prevent another Vikings miracle.
