Slip Away by Perfume Genius has really grown on me. Might even be my track of the year so far. Right up there along I Ain't Got Time, Anoche, Czech One, Sugar For The Pill and Perfect Places.
Despite not enjoying nearly everything else Lil Uzi Vert has ever done, XO Tour Llif3 is up there too. I wish all tracks in this new wave of hip-hop were that good.
gotta check these.
For now, this song has really grown on me. I can't tell yet if is the vocal performance, melody, arrangement... idk. Just really clicks somehow. And I'm not a Temples fan.
I know some are less inclined to put videos (I'm not 100% sure why... do people's internet suck?), but for songs I really like seeing new music videos... especially of artists I don't know. So here's this one.
he's a part of the janus crew, like that whole berlin centric post club stuff where its kind of like idm but we dont call it idm because that's some last decade shit but post club still sounds stupid
but anyway basically with this album he really wanted to make sure the big songs were still dancey
and so this is like some electronic dance music stuff with fantastic levels of detail and constant progression in what the song is and it's parameters but it fucking bumps the whole way thru
like I actually have speakers with a subwoofer now, have for a while
but this has made me appreciate that the most, by far
when you have the opportunity to rly blast something I think this is maybe the song of 2017 that is the most worth blasting
and I think 2017 has had tons of amazing stuff this isnt easy for me to say but at the same time its super fuckin easy this song rules
listening to it now
this keeps happening I get myself excited about this song and then have to listen
like in the beginning when the beat really hits it feels like its all over the place but im grooving and find a beat and then the beat comes in and it actually is that beat, it somehow tells me what it is but it feels really abstract at the same time, there's really something to this
his last album didnt have that, piteous gate, its still a top tier album but i remember before this one animal collective concert they played this song in the pre show thing and some people tried to groove, myself included, but it was just impossible
Interesting stuff Tap. I wish I could get in to that stuff more. It's beautiful, intriguing, and then somehow I get lost/bored/lose interest or it immediately turns me off somehow. I don't really know why.
