27 albums left. Some of which I have never listened to yet. Some I've heard 2x and liked them, but my second listen I thought less of them, so I'm conflicted.

Hey Seth,

If you liked Semper Femina, give Jesca Hoop a go. Both albums produced by Blake Mills. Im a fan of his work.

Semper Femina by Laura Marling

Memories Are Now by Jesca Hoop

I love Semper Femina all the way through. Really liked Memories are Now apart from one track.

I'm still not done - but I did update my chart and got rid of anything below a 70.

I've got 4 albums left... and I'm not crazy about the samples I've made of them.

Totally like these I've been re-listening to/listening first time though:

Witness by Benjamin Booker

Harmony Of Difference by Kamasi Washington

Memories Are Now by Jesca Hoop

I wasn't however as impressed with the Ryan Adams effort Prisoner. Musically or lyrically it just never really did anything for me. Sorry Sad

Glad you liked Jesca Hoop. She's an ex-Mormon who got a gig being nanny to Tom Waits' kids before launching her own music career. How's that for an interesting back story?

You probably don't want more albums to listen to, but this album she did with Sam Beam is one I really liked the previous year. Might even be better.

Suggestions to make your list longer...

This was my favourite album of the year. Subdued, darkly-lit piano and hushed vocal. Sounds like the late night confessions of your flat-mate sitting at the piano in another room.

Slowmotionary by Ethan Gruska

The Way Is Read. The Staves (folky harmonising sisters) collaborate with modern creative instrumental group, yMiusic. Accessible, yet not dumbed down. Best of both worlds.

I could go on with other suggestions, but here's my list if you're interested...

Laughing

I'm only laughing because that puts a lot of perspective on the spelling of her name. Totally respect it, but when you live around people who think the name Lyberty is cute... uhghghghgh. haha. It just means your parents are idiots.

Also how do you become Tom Waits' nanny? That's something, right?

Also there's kind of a joke in Utah where someone asks you if you are Mormon and the joke is kind of like, isn't everyone.

Here's clarity on the culture of names (it's a joke mocking it):

RE: Album suggestions

I actually really appreciate it!

I am neglecting my medieval music parties to wrap up 2017. But if you highly recommend, I'm all ears.

Man, those Mormon girls certainly are bubbly! I feel like I've inhaled helium, or something.
