Yep, this is a great album, as is Rocks. Get Your Wings has some great stuff on it too. I'd say this is tops for them though, set the tone for a lot of other bands to follow.

My absolute love of the next album, Rocks, will argue this until the end of time. Toys is really great...but Rocks is even better. THEN it was all downhill. Quickly.

Right. Although I think BOTH Toys and Rocks are equals if to Toys being just a tad better. Both 5 star classics as far as I'm concerned. He probably just thinks Rocks came out before Toys is all. then it was downhill. And then they became a completely different band (although I always liked Done With Mirrors).

Like Queen, I could never get into an Aerosmith album.

Fantastic singles collections, mediocre albums, if you ask me.

When aerosmith released their first album, there was little to distinguish this band from a hundred other hard rock bands that copied the Yardbirds theme. It wasn't very good. But somehow they evolved from a blues and boogie band to a very important hard rock band. Maybe it was the drugs/alcohol that infused more soul and swing?
They were called the "Toxic Twins" (Tyler and Perry) for a reason!

I love Toys in the Attic; rocking raunchy songs "walk this way", "sweet emotion" and the raunchiness of them all "big ten inch". Must have hard rock album.

For me, also, Rocks is the mother of all american hard rock albums! Didn't have any hits, but it is so amazing, especially "last child" and "rats in the cellar".

Not surprising, after these 2, the junkies flushed their careers down the toilet.

^^ Last Child is one of the greatest rock songs ever. Period.
