Anyone know a really could rendition of this? There are so many choices. I think that's part of the reason I've never gotten as into classical music as I could. Not only are there a zillion choices. There's a zillion renditions of those zillion choices. lol.
Anyways, taking my kids to see handle's messiah in concert at this cool church. Going to gradually start exposing them to thematic now so that they enjoy the concert more. It's always more fun when you know the songs.
Sorry. Can't help with this one. I never know which versions of classical music to buy. Once a good one is made they should delete all the other versions!

Totally!
Seriously. As goofy as that sounds, it's really not a bad idea from a marketing point of view. As it is right now, it's really a HUGE barrier to entry for people like me even interested in getting their feet wet with classical. I have no desire to listen to five renditions of Handel's Messiah just to figure out which one will really move me. And there is a big difference between renditions.
Koopman (Erato)
Higginbottom (Naxos)
Layton (Hyperion)
Mackerras (EMI)
Davis (Phillips)
Scherchen (Westminster)
Hogwood (L’Oiseau-Lyre) _________________ Best Classical Best Films Best Paintings
Okay great. Especially if you're only interested in one rendition, as alluded to above, Christie's should be all you need. _________________ Best Classical Best Films Best Paintings
