I've just started diving into some of the classic Prog albums of the 70s, and I'm really enjoying myself so far.

I had only really known of Pink Floyd and Rush before I started getting into the genre, and I honestly didn't even know that they were labeled as 'Progressive'.

The 2 albums I've managed to get my hands on and have been enjoying quite a bit are

Octopus by Gentle Giant

Close To The Edge by Yes

Any similar Prog albums I should try to find next..?

Definitely listen to King Crimson's In The Court Of The Crimson King asap. That album in my opinion was the pinnacle of prog rock and my personal favorite album of all time. Pink Floyd is also a given.

Obviously bands like Yes, Genesis, and Rush are big names that people will rave over as well (even if I don't care for any of them too much) and are worth checking out.

I'd also recommend:

Supertramp- Crime of the Century/Breakfast In America
Traffic - John Barleycorn Must Die/The Low Spark of High Heeled Boys
Camel - Mirage/Moonmadness/The Snow Goose
Caravan - In The Land Of Grey And Pink/ If I Could Do It All Over Again, I'd Do It All Over You
Dire Straits - Love Over Gold

I generally like to give a very personalized response, but this is a rare case in which I will simply refer to another list as I've yet to see one better. You could do a lot worse than working your way down this list.

Okay, I will make it a bit personal. Here's my BEA creation for the 100 best prog albums. As a specific recommendation, if you like classic prog but want to hear something more contemporary, I highly recommend Transatlantic (especially the album Bridge Across Forever) or Flying Colors (self titled debut).

And if you like metal at all, I also have a BEA list of the top progressive metal albums:
