At first I wrote a snarky reply, but then I read more and found a quote from Noname from this great interview:

There may be a bunch of people who now like her music for the wrong reasons. However, both her music and her original fanbase are the furthest thing from boring and white. They're the unapologetic product of her Chicago community.
This record is picking up steam online a lot faster than her debut did, so I'd agree that people probably won't, at least not as much as they sleep on a lot of other rappers.

The new EP from Hozier, “Nina Cried Power”, I really like.
Love the inclusion of Mavis Staples on the title track.
Would love a new full length album.

good rec. i am loving this one. aaand if you haven't heard Holly Waxwing's Peachwinks EP, I highly recommend checking it out. it's pretty similar to this in a lot of ways. also gonna drop Koloto's Mechanica as being in somewhat of the same vein. neither are 2018 releases, but you'll dig them.

Saw Room 25 by noname recommended a couple times in an online forum, gave it a listen and it really blew me away. Great both in terms of the literary twists and turns as well as the wonderful musical accompaniment (especially from the drums).
