Overrated by association. Mediocre.

Agreed.
Prove Yourself is easily the worst song they ever wrote, and that track alone brings this album down pretty bad.
I mean it's above average of what was released at the time from a group like the Spin Doctors or the Lemonheads or something, but not Radiohead level material.
I find it interesting how there's an interesting divide on this album for Radiohead fans. You either hate it (except a couple tracks) or love it (even the crap tracks).

Admittedly, "Blow Out" has really grown on me. If I were to make a list of my top 50 shoegaze tracks, that song would definitely make the cut.

From what I've heard, Thom Yorke fully agrees with you.

You know, I never thought I'd see the day (I really loved the song growing up... I mean it was easily top 10 songs ever for me). And yet somehow I've also grown out of it. I mean in concept, emotion, lyric and all it's not a bad song, but it has gotten old. It definitely I think is more me than the song.

Sub-par album, these songs just don't hit like anything else from the time did. You can hear the sound that would become The Bends here, but it's lost in a lazy, distorted mess. I still like Creep, but not really as a Radiohead song.
