What's the most underrated album of all time?

For me, it would be Dire Straits' debut album. It's flawless in my eyes...

My pick would be another album by Dire Straits, Love Over Gold. All of the tracks are wonderful, "Industrial Disease" in particular. The lyrics to this song never fail to give me a chuckle. I don't know why this one was sort of overlooked upon its release.

Yeah that album had definitely grown on me! Private Investigations is such a unique tune in classic rock and Love over Gold is absolutely in their top 10 songs, good choice... (guess Dire Straits are simply underrated across the board)

My late beautiful precious Steve Sanders of the Oak Ridge Boys did the lead for every song on this album released in 1974 and so to me, it couldn't be any better, I love him SO much!!!

God bless you and his family always!!!

I'd probably go with Variations in Dream-time by Anthony Davis. One of the masterpieces of the 80s, of Jazz, and all time, but you'd be hard pressed to ever meet someone that has even heard of it.

Another underrated album is The Distance by Bob Seger. It was released in the early 80's and featured great songs like "Roll Me Away" and "Shame on the Moon". It's my favorite album by Mr. Seger and I wonder why it's been overlooked.

A great choice. Industrial Disease is a fantastic song, but for me, the epic Telegraph Road is on of the wolds greatest all time compositions and alone makes the album worthy of this mention.

Probably OK Computer, most people don't really talk about that one, and I don't know anybody that really likes it.

But seriously, it depends on the definition of underrated. Do you mean album best album that people haven't heard of, or do you mean an album most people don't like or aren't very big fans of?
