I don't own a lot of their albums (4 in all I think), but those that I have, I cherish. Brilliant dadaist band, with hilarious cover songs, and amazing creativity. Love the stupid covers as well. Innovative without being too pretentious about it.

Strange. Don't much like their music but I admire the concept of Third Reich And Roll.

I own several of their albums and a few compilations. I really like them and I like the fact that they are willing to not just make music...but make art. They're not for everyone, that's for sure. But, like most of the "out there" groups, their fanbase is very often hardcore and extremely dedicated. Without artists like Frank Zappa, Captain Beefheart, and the Fugs around anymore, these guys are pretty much what's left to keep swinging that banner. _________________ Speakers of the House DJ

Personally, I find Eskimo to be way too boring and generic, but I LOVE Meet the Residents and Third Reich and Roll.

When I was first discovering a thing called "experimental music" I downloaded these guys in curiosity. I was sent a bizarre trip that was so out there it was almost unlistenable at first, but then it grew and I really digged it, but even with my more matured tastes two years later, it's still a trippy listen. Oh, and the album was "Not Available".
Love what these guys stand for - being so unknown and candid in what they do and making what someone already said...art.

No mention yet of my two favorite Residents albums, Not Available and God in Three Persons. Absolutely essential for fans of experimental/strange music. They put on a pretty damn interesting show too

I am very intrigued by them but have not really investigated their material, mostly because I'm not sure what a good starting point would be.
