There's also something with an album I already added a long time ago: altough I added this album at rank 20/37 of my 1997 album, it doesn't get ranked at all:
Future Signs by Warm Jets
Albums released in the current year don't get awarded points within greatest album charts (only within year charts).
Future Signs exists in a 1997 year chart but on BEA it's recorded as a 1996 release (initially released in the UK on Island Records) and this is why it hasn't been awarded points (the date does seem to vary among sources so probably needs checking in to).
Thx AM, I guess I could have guessed the point about the Warm Jets. I think 1996 as the year of issue is correct so I moved the album to my 1996 chart.
And on the second point: this is a fantastic point. I suppose albums of the year we're in shouldn't count as a best ever album yet but I was so enthusiastic about two of them I couldn't help myself. It's also a reason I suppose to take them out of my overall top chart and exchange them by two others and wait until I have a more established view on them in 2019.
You mention that 2018 albums only count for year charts but I see they also count for decade charts.
Anyway again showing what a well-thought site this is and good luck with your planned site overhaul.
thanks for the feedback (site overhaul being worked on every day). You are correct about decade charts (I'd forgotten that). Another reason the points system is the way that it is, is that the current year chart was easily gamed due to the points differences in greatest album charts.
