I love whistling along to Me And Julio Down by the Schoolyard. Great song. Good album. Surprised it isn't in the Top 1000. It should be higher imo.

Mother and Child Reunion is my mostest favoritest Paul Simon song. His next album had more good ones on it though. This has a bunch of good ones too though.

Well, I think all the Simon and Garfunkel's are better than anything he did afterwards. I like Rhymin' Simon a lot, but after that album I don't really like much else that he did. By the time he got to still crazy after all these years, his songs just didn't seem as good anymore. Except for My Little Town. Which is really great. That's the last one he did that I really really love.

I keep a spreadsheet that I try and keep up to date with my ratings/reviews/rankings, etc.

So I just filtered paul simon and simon and garkfunkel in that spreadsheet and copied and pasted it.

The rating is at the end and then next to the year is the rank I have it for that year.

Formatting to copy over isn't great, but I think most people can read it fine.

Oh and to literally answering your question, I rate each song on each album, then average the rating of each song for the total score. For me 70 is I get why other people like it, but I'm not liking it yet. Below 70 is I don't like it at varying degrees of suckness. 80 is good, 85 is an above average song and 100 usually throbs me heart and blows me mind.

RE: simon and garfunkel better than anything else
As you can see from my ratings I'm not sure I can agree, but if i didn't have these numbers I might agree with you.

I think My Little Town he gave to Garfunkel and it was on this album, which as 70s corny as it is, I dig it:

Yeah - I started it in 2016 and it really helped me break some of the biases I had based on gut checks instead of a more systematic approach. Of course it is biased, but it helped me understand my bias a bit more. It has it's cons too - like longer albums that are great but have a few filler tracks get their ratings dumped on even if I think they are great albums (Doolittle, The Wall, White Album, London Calling, Exile on Main St. etc.)

dihanse suggested to just take the top 13 songs on a double album and use that... that often resulted in 100 albums or perhaps over inflated albums.

I'm wondering if I rate each 'disk" as a separate album what results that'd give me... anyway... there's no perfect system.
