I am not giving him a hard time for samples. I think the music itself is interesting. I just feel it's out of place compared to the rest of the albums. Tell me more about how DJ's make music like anyone else? I'm not disagreeing, just confused by what you mean.

Well, they just build their music using the same methods as other electronic musicians. Just by using electronic instruments and computer software. They just create original music rather than music sampled from other records. Hip Hop uses more sampled music than any other kind of electronic music probably. Most other kinds don't use samples at all or very rarely.
I'm trying to think which kind of electronic music has the most artists with DJ in their name. And I think it's probably House and drum n bass. Well, at least according to my CD collection. Heh heh

Laughing

Benefit of the doubt.

Maybe you can give us a better understanding Skinny?

I mean I think the obvious thing is DJ's (at least used to) really have two turntables, crossover/faders and would fuck with time sometimes. It really was about track isolation as shown here:

"Electronic musicians" on the other hand have a mass array of different tools, but to simplify it we'll say they mostly make music on synthesizers, be they analog or digital.

The votes so far... it's a pain in the ass to update, so no changing votes at this point please.

(Also these points are not additive to the semi-finalist round like previous ones were... I'll think about posting the differences on other threads...)

Illmatic 50
Aquemini 43
Ready To Die 40
Enter The Wu-Tang (36 Chambers) 37
3 Feet High And Rising 32
Good Kid, M.A.A.D City 32
My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy 28
Endtroducing..... 23
The Cold Vein 20
The Marshall Mathers LP 18

I'll keep voting up for as long as people are still voting or up until 2 weeks of the last vote.

So are these the final results?

Thanks for the reminder (on a side note my email doesn't get notified anymore from BEA... so I get lost with conversations all the time now... and no it's not in the junk folder... but I talk too much anyway). Yes, I don't think anyone voted after this, and then therefore 2 weeks later the voting closed out. I'll update the OP.

And the medals go to:

Gold

Illmatic by Nas

Silver

Aquemini by OutKast

Bronze

Ready To Die by The Notorious B.I.G.

Also for a n00b to Hip-Hop, I really enjoyed the Hip-Hop Evolution series on Netflix.
