**Revolver – August 1966**

Sgt Pepper – May 1967
Magical Mystery Tour – Nov 1967
White Album – Nov 1968
Yellow Submarine – Jan 1969
Abbey Road – Sept 1969
Let It Be – May 1970

From Revolver to Abbey Road it's juuust over 3 years. So if I can't have both Revolver and Abbey Road, I'll take Sgt. Pepper to Let It Be. Just UNDER 3 years. May 26, 1967 to May 8, 1970. What an awesome 3 year run!

The who, duh.

Tommy
Who's Next
Quadrophenia

No questions asked.

Second would have to be:
Pink Floyd

Dark Side
Wish You Were Here
Animals

Creedence is good, but they don't stand up to Floyd and the Who.

Seems like you haven't read through the whole thread -- somewhat understandable given its length -- but it's best 3-YEAR run, not 3-album run. Dark Side to Animals and Tommy to Quadrophenia are 5-year runs. A common mistake in this thread is counting, for example, 1970-1973 or 1967-1970, as a 3-year run, when it's actually 4 years. Best 3-Album Run would be a legitimate thread topic, though easier than this one.

I'm gonna take the concept of this thread and double it. 6-year run, R.E.M. 1983-1988.

I type as I wear a Who t-shirt (present). But I think who's next is way overrated. I mean it's good and all that but is it not just a tad boring? It has those two killer tracks but it's almost the definition of dad rock. Quadrophenia is a masterpiece though.
