I remember revisiting this pretty heavily about three years ago, and was shocked how well it held up. I mean, it's not the most groundbreaking or insightful record, but it works, and is loaded with memorable songs.

Track picks
2. Jesus Of Suburbia
3. Holiday
10. Letterbomb
11. Wake Me Up When September Ends
13. Whatsername

they should have just retired after american idiot because they were never going to top it

It's fantastic, it's fun, it's the 2000s, if it's not fun, why bother?

Whatsername still the greatest green day song to date

As a former die-hard Green Day obsessive, I support this message.

Now seriously, I think it works much better than any other song in this album, and the way the chorus enhances itself after the bridge gives the song such an epic feeling, probbably the best closer they could have thought for this album. Jesus of suburbia is a close second though

Boulevard of Broken Dreams is one of my favourite songs. Period. Even though it does rip off Wonderwall by Oasis. It's still darned good!

They gone dun grown up with this one and made themselves something more than a fun punk band from the 90s.

Liked it enough to buy it on vinyl.
