I would say easily half the album are classics but what lets the album down is the song Purple Stain. It's pretty gross and stopped me including this album in my top 100 and stopped me buying it on vinyl, though I could have got it at a really fair price. I suppose Mr Keidis & Co like to push the boundaries but I don't like that song.

I'll take that off your hands Stover75... free of charge Smile.

This was a huge part of my musical taste when I was a kid. One of my favorite bands "got back together". It's an explosion of music, imo. There's few bands that write music this good. Lyrics/overall feel might have some room for improvement. It could be argued it has a track or two that aren't fantastic, but from a drum, guitar, and bass standpoint it's all high caliber stuff.

Some of it doesn't quite have the umph it did when it first came out, but still solid.

I love the energy of the intro.

Don't get me wrong, it's a great album. It's just that one track ruins it for me.

I knew it was dirty... and then your comments made me actually read the lyrics and it's a bit more dirty than I realized. I still think the groove on that song is pretty killer though, so I'll just continue to ignorantly listen to it like I did before.

This is also one of the important albums of my youth. One of the first I from my top 100 that I discovered "by myself", that means, no radio and no parents or friends playing it for me, I have a soft spot for it. Then this rock radio started in Spain and played some of their singles which due to this have been a little overplayed for me. Luckily, the album doesn't rely only on its singles.

When this happens I just delete the track and forget it's there. I mean, if it's only one, it doesn't ruin me the album at all Laughing

It's okay, not a huge Chili Peppers fan but probably the best album of the year.
