It sounds similar to American Idiot but lacks that album's ambition. It's also about 15-20 minutes too long, and has a forgettable concept.

… and yet, despite it's flaws, I still enjoy 21st Century Breakdown overall. It's not as good as Green Day's 1994-2004 releases, but it's still better than the 4 albums that came after.

Well put.

Tracks 8 and 10 are my faves.

"East Jesus Nowhere" is one my favourite Green Day songs.

By themselves, the songs aren't individually bad (except Static Age) but 1hr and 8mins of the exact same sound with no change or development, weak ass lyricism that I would usually excuse if the album was much shorter, but it all just piles up on top of each other until it's unbearable. It's length completely ruins the otherwise okayish and decent (but very bland) songs which makes this Green Day's 2nd worst album.

3/10

It's not like Green Day's discography was flawless before this but this was really the beginning of the end of them being anything worth listening to in my opinion.

21 Guns is a good bordering on great song but it is a rewrite of Boulevard of Broken Dream, which is better. There is some good stuff on here but it is inferior to American. Idiot. Still a decent album, better than Uno Dos Tre.
