No more posting in this thread unless it's about California, Seth.
Reserving this spot for the actual review...
But I sure do miss California... the food, the beach, the people, the venues, the music, the Getty, Griffith Observatory, the 405 (yes... I can't believe I just said that), USC and UCLA, Roscoe's, oh so many things...
Also I'm stuck listening to this 400 hour Bruce Springsteen comp and I don't really even like Bruce that much... but I'm getting a better understanding why people think U2 is mediocre (having wanting to mirror his career).

Just kidding, so much non-posts by Seff Mad SOHN that I'll start fresh here... also how could you guys possibly forget the OC theme song by Phantom Planet (kidding... maybe... My 15 year old self will go cry now).

California by Mr. Bungle
This started out as a - oh ok, so a bit like Foxygen or basically any "silly" yet serious music. But by the end I was sold I probably want to listen to this again... that final track especially, I loved that curve ball. I can't seriously think it's amazing music though... it's a bit like saying a Monty Python movie is the best movie ever made. But should you watch all of them... absolutely. 80-85 for sure.
2. May you enjoy the The Heptones BayState

Jazz fusion from a drummer that played with Miles Davis, with an experimental guitar rock bent. This was pretty great actually, especially the two spectrum songs, during which I almost forgot I was listening to a jazz album. Chaotic but listenable, and I loved the unpolished sound of the guitar, and the sound of the album as a whole. 8.5/10, 9/32 for 1969, and 29/95 for the 60's.
Seth there is not much there I'm interested in at the moment. Try Agalloch. The one album I've heard of theirs wasn't bad.

Damn!
Now this is a dope hip hop album. I would say that I love that this album has this balance between being an outer space opus while being grounded by reality. Hell as I type this up, I'm giving this a second spin. As well as there are some really dope bars. I mean that still born line is a jaw dropper but there are so much more that I kinda want to keep it a secret for newcomers. Now what would be my complaint? I think it might be how some tracks slap so hard it make some of these songs look a bit inferior. I mean compare songs like Iron Galaxy, Ox Out The Cage, The F Word and Scream Phoenix are some jaw dropping songs that I need to visit them again that other songs might get an eh from me even if they're damn good.
The only other thing I could argue is that I don't know if the whole album retains this space opus musically.
But again, I'm revisiting this right now. And I find this cutting edge even after almost being 20 years old.
Grade:90 might be a 95 with future listens.

Another fine edition to the bay area gangsta catalog. Some great tracks and some so-so ones. This "Two-Illeven" will fit right in the middle of my chart.
Luigii, I'd be interested to hear how "Morning View" suits you. Have you listened to Incubus before?
