Best/Worst Movie to Television Adaptations

In the vein of the "worst sequels" thread, I thought it would be interesting to get folks' take on movies that were turned into TV series. But we need not limit the discussion to the debacles; there are some good ones as well.

Here's what springs to mind for me...

Best:
M*A*S*H
The Naked Gun/Police Squad
In the Heat of the Night
Westworld
Stargate/Stargate SG-1

Worst:
My Big Fat Greek Wedding/My Big Fat Greek Life
Alien Nation
Stir Crazy
Gun Ho
Starman

Fargo immediately springs to mind as one of the best TV shows I've ever seen.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer
Friday Night Lights (have only seen a few episodes so far, but has a great rep)
MASH (haven't seen it in eons, except one pretty bad later episode; hope the first 3 seasons with Wayne Rogers still hold up)
The Odd Couple (original)
Hannibal (Didn't stick with it, but what I saw was pretty good quality)
Limitless (canceled after one season; I liked it but not great, improved on the mediocre movie)
Westworld (have only seen a few episodes so far)


Haven't seen enough bad ones to make a list, but I can say I've seen an episode of Delta House.


Ones that surprised me they existed the most when I looked at a Wikipedia list:

Bus Stop
Mr. Smith Goes to Washington
Serpico (might possibly vaguely remember this one)
The Third Man (knew there was a radio series called “The Lives of Harry Lime," don't remember if I knew of the British TV series)
