But I haven't liked the singles he's released since, and probably won't check this out, because it sounds awful. Hope he gets it back together at some point. |
The title track, Hot Shower, Ballin Flossin, and the 8 minutes of skits are all bangers, so I'd rec you check those out. |

Not to sound dramatic but .... sadly I have zero faith in his ability to reel me back in anymore. this is just a different guy than the one I was a fan of. I'll probably just pretend he doesn't make music anymore lol. _________________ Griselda, by Fashion Rebels

Angel Olsen's latest is looking promising.
July was a little slow for 2019 releases, but I dug these:
Hunger In Me Living by Organ Tapes
Discarnate by Qualiatik
2030 by Lexie Liu
All of which fall under atmospheric-future-pop vibes.
Sadly, I think I listened to more duds than hits this month, but that's just how it is sometimes. My 5-6/10 pile really stacked up in July.
Looking forward to Charli XCX's album dropping. I feel like she might really knock it out of the park.

Has anyone else been listening to Jade Bird's debut from a few months back? I've been consistently going back to it all summer, my favorite of the year so far.

It's had a polarizing response so far, but I'm definitely in the group who thinks it's a great release. And I'm not finding it nearly as experimental as others are. People expecting him to go back to Emma are delusional. It's a lot less delicate than Bon Iver, Bon Iver, and definitely more punchy than 22, A Million, but it's still just a mildly tweaked sound He isn't releasing a hip-hop record by any means.
It feels like a very honest and passionate project from an artist who clearly isn't letting himself get bored. It's kinda the stage I figured indie rock would be in come 2019 (keeping it mind the genre's practically disappeared in the last three years). He's doing what he wants, with confidence, and that's great to hear. Picking up influences from at least a half-dozen genres, excellently mushed.
At this pace, I, I will mostly likely stick in my top 20 of the year. Think I even prefer it to his last.

What's some good 2019 hip-hop, R&B and house/techno releases, beyond the usual suspects
