Hello Happiness by Chaka Khan

a synth-funk powerhouse. for a soul veteran of chaka's age the consistency here surprises me tbh

Cheers for the heads up; will check this later. Sound right up my alley.

GIRLS by Yung Baby Tate

also up the skinny alley -- infectious, high energy R&B with an urban background of trap and electropop

Nice; will also check.

You heard jonatan leandoer127's album? You might despise it, but I think it's super cool.

Oh, it's Yung Lean's indie pop side project. I hate his rapping, but find this incredibly charming. But yeah, that myspace username is super on-brand for him.

With regards the top one: it has four tracks and is therefore fine (I think).

Last I checked, it was a 5 track minimum. If we reduced it to four, that'd be stellar though. I get that we don't want the site flooded with singles, but a 4-track or 16-min minimum would really allow for some fantastic releases that've been barred.

Seneca by Charles Wesley Godwin

a obscure, earnest, and well-written country album that seems to have more in common with outlaw country of the 70s than the modern conventions of contemporary country

Excellent black metal record, from symphonic and post to folk and ambient sounds. For those who dislike black metal, check out the last track, it's beautiful. My number 3 of the year currently, great record.

Forgotten Paths by Saor

Also can't help but share my favourite music quote of the year, courtesy of my mom. The third song on the album is playing, and somewhere at 5 minute mark there's a female voice atop of less intense instrumentation. My mom walks into the room and casually asks "Is this Eurovision song?"
