Dad Rocker's Of the World rejoice...

South Of Reality by The Claypool Lennon Delirium

This album is fantastic! Is there a better rock album released yet this year? Fans of early Tame Impala should dig this as well.

Definitely the best thing either has done in quite a while. Reminds me quite a bit of XTC's side project The Dukes of Stratosphere

Vampire Weekend just dropped Worst Album Cover 2019.

And two new tracks.

However, while we wait for that, this is a new notable release I think everyone should give a spin:

Grey Area by Little Simz

Really sharp UK hip-hop record. Definitely one of the year's best so far.

I really love that Vampire Weekend album cover.

As for Little Simz, thought her last couple releases were kinda bland. Hopefully this one is better.

Really? I found it difficult to even read. I suppose they were going for a 1994-Direct-To-Library look, but it's just not my thing. Sony Music stands out more than anything else Confused Maybe it's just the fact it's Vampire Weekend... it feels very... un-Vampire Weekend ish.

Ripe 'N' Ready (A Kiwi Rekords Sampler)...us Artists

This is that good shit, cannot wait to see what Conducta and the rest of the Kiwi crew cook up this year. That classic UK garage sound, updated for the mandem. This is the sort of stuff that makes me go wild in the rave. Well worth your time.

You're completely right but I like it.
After a few weeks this album I created is still marked as suspect. Can't you have a look?

My 2019 is starting to look like an eighties/nineties indie chart with new albums by Sebadoh, Bob Mould, Stephen Malkmus, Dream Syndicate, GBV, Swervedriver and now also Meat Puppets for God's sake:

Dusty Notes by Meat Puppets

But I can tell you this is a great one. Their playing is less sloppy than on their first albums but that doesn't do this album any harm. The added instrumentation by piano, accoustic guitar, banjo etc give this album an additional breeziness which works very well with the quintessence on Unfrozen Memory where the addition of a harpsichord theme on top of the layered electric guitars works like a house on fire. Even the fact that on some tracks like Sea of Heartbreak the songs are maybe a bit too schmalzy country doesn't really break the good flow here. There's even a semi prog song to be found here with Vampyr's Winged Fantasy with a Uriah Heep tinged organ sound and even this one doesn't feel out of place.
In short: this album is in my opinion even better than their past albums so give this one a spin.
