The new one is really great. I wasn't a fan of The Unnatural World but this one is great and hits really hard. Not a retread of Deathconciousness either, it's got a different vibe. Highly recommended.

i'm just stopping in to:
A] thank you for this rec. i've been listening to it a lot, and i'm in love with it.
B] recommend fans of Serotonin II by Yeule to check out last year's Anemone by Anemone (JP), led by chinese goth star Yikii. it's a bit of an obscure record i came across after someone else on this thread recommended Flower's Grave・花之墓 by Yikii. but anyway, yeah, the yeule record reminds me of the anemone record in good ways, so you may be into it. _________________ follow me on the bandcamp.

A contender for the best thing this year and the best thing Stott's put out. Can't wait for his 2020 release.

Liturgy surprise released their new album today, so if you're in the mood for some classical electronic black metal you should check it out. Not sure if I like it more than The Ark Work yet, but there's definitely a lot more harp on it...
Also the cover sucks:

Schlagenheim by Black Midi
What this album is:
Better than I anticipated. Sounds like what a good debut should be like, because it seems like the band gets more focused and confident as the album runs on.
What this album isn't:
Groundbreaking in the slightest.
This album is the "You Won't Get What You Want" of 2019. A competent, well-made, and interesting album that is nowhere near as revolutionary as the internet has claimed it to be. I don't know how these albums find a wide audience that declares it to be way more than it is. F*ck, I mean, there's a comment for this album on this site that compares it to "tRouT MAsK RePLiCa", because it's "unconventional". There are plenty of other misguided comparisons as well from Bloc Party to Talking Heads and all sorts of incomprehensible rubbish. It's just good music made by some dudes who will hopefully keep making music the way they want to make it.

Sincerely, Detroit by Apollo Brown
One of the best hip hop releases this year. It's incredible that an album with so many different rappers manages to be this cohesive and good. Apollo Brown knows his production tricks, and the idea behind the whole project is just as inspiring as the record itself. _________________ Finally updated the overall chart

There's a new Bonnie "Prince" Billy if anybody's still interested. It's called I Made a Place and I haven't listened to it yet.
Thanks again for all the cool recs.

After admittedly not a very careful listen, I am pretty disappointed. I'm a big fan of some of his earlier stuff, but I just wish he takes a bit more time when releasing all those new albums, cause they're always a step (or several) from being really good. One of the musicians that should think more about quality than quantity imho. _________________ Finally updated the overall chart
