Also anybody heard the new Liturgy?

I mentioned it a couple pages back, it's really great. I still like The Ark Work better because it tried more things and felt more adventurous, but I totally get people preferring this one because it is more well-written. The interludes are neat and the addition of the harp is cool.

if you think Schlagenheim is a stock record thats been done 500 times before then you probably are trying to go against the grain

its not revolutionary or particularly new, shit, but it is interesting and unique in its own way of grasping all these sort of sounds together

Did Not say anywhere that it's some sort of generic take on the sound, just agreeing (mostly) with Chiefrocka;'s post that the praise has been a bit hyperbolic up to this point. It's quite good at what it does and does have it's share of interesting moments, but it's been made out to be far more groundbreaking than it actually is. That is all.

Anyways looking forward to Forest Photographer but otherwise dont' really know what's coming up soon, seems like the major releases are winding down as the decade comes to a close and more best-of lists are coming up (because they couldn't fucking wait a couple of months). I mean hopefully a new big, a new impor... a new...

it's certainly not a bad record, which is a surprising thing to say about coldplay these days. having listened through it once, there are some rather stellar moments. it's a little inconsistent and could've used a bit of pruning, but if you enjoyed the band's first 4 albums, it's worth hearing.

Obverse by Trentemøller

Something from September, but I've discovered it a few days ago. Great stuff, downtempo, indietronica, dream pop and a bit of ambient at parts.

I really enjoyed his first two albums. Haven't listened to him in a while though, I'll check this one out.

OOFIE by Wiki

Some great east coast hip-hop right here. You can get to know Wiki a bit more with this record. I recommend giving it a listen, worth the time of any hip-hop fan this year imo.

Need to check the new Wiki - one of our greatest rappers working.

The new Greedo and Kenny Beats album is brilliant.

2019 is a good year in music but it didn't have any exceptional records until now. I have to admit: it only hit me the second time I listened to it but I can tell you there is a real emotional rollercoaster which nobody is picking up so I can only spread the message: the new record of The Slow Show:

Lust And Learn by The Slow Show
They could easily be dismissed for a clone of the National both by the timbre of the singer's voice as for the music but this album digs much deeper than the National in my opinion. There is an extra orchestral side to their music which could render it very cheesy but it just adds to the emotional flavor of this album.
Standouts are Loser's Game and Vagabond but they are all pure diamonds.

After listening to the album again I promoted it from the 61st album of the year to the first. Please Tilly, Komo, Gowi, RoundTheBend and many others, have a listen and give me your opinion.

Cut in 1964 but no released until 2019. A very brief 37 minutes, and that includes alternate takes of two of the songs.

Bit there is some really good music here.
