Look, I hate Yung Lean's winking, stoned, lowest common denominator, substance-starved, culture-appropriating cloud rap as much as the next guy, but if he wants to continue churning out smack-addled, Mark E. Smith-esque, out of tune, surprisingly touching absurdism over Dean Blunt's idea of a C86 version of Mazzy Star trying to recreate Fisherman's Blues for the rest of his career, I am here for it, and will take back every bad thing I've ever said about him. To say that this was unexpected is an understatement - it's the best indie record in years, courtesy of one of the worst rappers of his generation. Seriously, what the actual fuck? Such a pleasant surprise. _________________ 2021 in full effect. Come drop me some recs. Y'all know what I like.

Yeah, can't miss this. It's like if Colin Stetson lived in a club for a couple months and then came out to make an album.

Couldn't agree more, really good record. The vocals sound a lot like Biffy Clyro (cause they're Scottish probably lol), and the whole sound is NIN meets The Cure or something like that. Pretty cool _________________ Finally updated the overall chart

Free Sauce by Ketchy the Great
Best hip-hop record of 2019 so far. Recommended to fans of teammate Drakeo the Ruler, 03 Greedo (who lends his singular vocal talents to three tracks here), E-40, Mozzy, DMX, Blueface, Sada Baby, etcetera. BAWPs steer clear. Free the Stinc Team. _________________ 2021 in full effect. Come drop me some recs. Y'all know what I like.

Henger I Luften by Jo David Meyer Lysne
I don't know what this is. It defies easy genre classification. It's ambient. Playful. Mysterious. Meditative. Fluid. Perfect.
And it's my favorite album so far in a really hot year.
ps. Stole this from Hayden's chart. It's his #1 too.

Gallipoli by Beirut
Absolutely lovely & endearing indie folk. The most adorable album released so far this year. I just want to hug it.
