one question: Are they waiting until Springsteen dies before they name a new jersey turnpike rest stop after him?
Is that the rule?
Or can they go right ahead?
He's one of the few male rockers of any genertion who sings about women without turning into a pushy little creep or a country cowboy sap.
He's never passed out into a toilet, or worn a mullet, or bought a castle, or annouced his sex prowess.
His live shows are legend. (Maybe in NJ. In truthfullness, i seen him 2x, and the shows seemed quite ordinary).

Darkness on the edge of Town was the follow up from Born to Run.
For me, the album has more grim, bitter, adult, he added more bite.
Candys room, promised land, streets of fire and racing in the streets (which is the best spingsteen song EVER) are unbelieveable.
I was in my youth when this masterpiece was created; i couldnt put it down for several years.
Even today i listen to this about 10x a year.

I wrote a comment on Fleetwood Mac's self titled saying it's not much worse than Rumours. Same can be said about this one, not that far behind Born To Run at all. Both of those are in my top 40 albums of all time.

Darker, gritter, more realistic, more guitar heavy. A unique album in Springsteen's discography because of the somewhat punk influenced guitar song (he was listening to The Clash at the time of making this one).

Racing In The Street and Badlands are absolute masterpieces, and the title track isn't far behind.
Candy's Room and Factory are two underrated gems.
