Post subject: What's the best song to close a Weezer album?
Same as the openers thread, drop your rankings below!
1. Endless Bummer
2. The Futurescope Trilogy
3. Only in Dreams
4. The Angel and the One
5. December
6. Butterfly
7. O Girlfriend
8. Haunt You Every Day
9. Unbreak my heart
10. I Don't Want to Let You Go
11. Any friend of Diane's
12. Stand By Me
13. Time Flies
Only in dreams was my prom song or whatever. Pending on my mood I think it's bloated and other times I think it's fantastic. I think where he repeats the name of the song is the worst part of it otherwise it may have had a chance.
Anyone whose answer isn't Only in Dreams or Butterfly needs their head examined.
1. Only in Dreams
2. Butterfly
3. Longtime Sunshine
Nothing else deserves to be on the same list as these three.
Pinkerton and Blue are great, but the purist trope is tired. Futurescope and Endless Bummer most certainly rival OID and LTS, and are way better than Butterfly
Only In Dreams and Butterfly are probably my favourite two Weezer songs. Only In Dreams is better but I feel like I need to say I love Butterfly as well. _________________ All time

I underrate the hell out of Butterfly. It's far from my favorite, but damn is it a beautiful song. I think its context on Pinkerton makes it even better

No way.

The Blue Album's and Pinkerton's rankings have been improving for years and are both now in the Top 100. No other Weezer album is the Top 1000, and almost every one's ranking has been falling. The purist trope is not tired. It's strengthening.

You're not alone Daydreamer. Both are in my Top 5 Weezer tracks. Butterfly is minimalist at its most beautiful.
Longtime Sunshine wouldn't get any votes because it's from an unofficial album and multiple demo recordings exist for it that don't sound the same. But this is the best version imo, with a reprise at the end that is absolutely sublime.
