RYM consistently does decent marks for death metal, black metal, and some niche variations inbetween (blackgaze, for example) but generally outside of "canon classics" you won't see many albums breaking the overall.
I wasn't necessarily talking about the overall chart. More like, their are 3 metal albums in their top 10 currently for 2019, and at least 30 in the top 100.
We have zero in our top 10, and, I think 7 in our top 100. It's a pretty big gap.
Or, an album like Rust In Peace is almost in the overall top 100. I think it's somewhere around 400 on here.
And no, I don't have anything on the site. I can only keep up here

rym has more users and a more dedicated amount of metal users who listen and interact with the community -- i think it has more to do with that, the metal regs of her are either semi-retired or kinda gone outside of those here
My knowledge of metal doesn't stretch very far, and the sonic range of the stuff I like is very narrow. I have a lot of time for Burning Witch, Sabbath, Sleep, High On Fire, Melvins, early Earth, Bong, Sunn O))), Ufomammut, Electric Wizard, Ghold, Conan, Monolord, Saint Vitus, Bongripper, Dopelord, Khanate, Nadja, Boris. If anyone has any recommendations based on those artists, I'd be highly appreciative. _________________ 2021 in full effect. Come drop me some recs. Y'all know what I like.

Don't know all of the artists you mention… but it seems, that Doom could be your subgenre… so you might check out CANDLEMASS
