This song is currently #19 on the Billboard country chart and #36 on the r&b/hip-hop chart. Not sure there's precedent for that kind of crossover. That said, I wouldn't characterize it as pure country rap exactly, but it's at least close. It also blew up because of Tik Tok, which goes to my other point.
Actually, yes. Most of the artists will accept a form of Fascism as far as an affront to old forms of power and democracy are concerned. That would keep in line with punk movements of the past, and the nationalist aspect will center around technology instead of a political or social idea. The Futurists were around before the Fascist party, but they definitely didn't have any problems with it either.
I think the lady in this video skips around a couple of things, but it's a good overview from the Guggenheim. Mussolini, unlike Hitler, didn't go as far out of his way to destroy Italian art, and most Futurists were still allowed to practice. I know that some of Luigi Russolo's instruments were destroyed during WWII, but I am unsure if that was from the government or the allies.

There have been fascists in punk for decades, but anti-fascism has easily been the more popular ideology in the punk movement. Also it's impossible to remove politics from the center of fascism. It is at its core a political ideology. _________________ Add me on RYM
I am all too familiar with him. Didn't realize that album charted in rap too but indeed it did.
"Gets good reviews" would be the key phrase in my post. Because if we're talking about utter garbage there's already Jason Aldean x Nelly and Brad Paisley x LL Cool J, among others. _________________ Add me on RYM

two sides of the same coin. My point was moreso a zealous attitude towards technology which would align with power, control, and going against the government as the Grimes song suggests. Except hers is from the perspective of some feminine AI program, I guess?
I had to do a Big & Rich concert when I worked security, and Cowboy Troy seemed like a really genuine dude. He met with people and took pictures and signed autographs after the show for a good while.

Nah, not two sides of the same coin at all. Anti-fascists in punk music don't want to create an authoritarian government and kill off people based on their ethnicity etc. _________________ Add me on RYM
