With the release of the 2019 RSD list, I was wondering what is getting you excited.

I'll start the ball rolling

Yep, I’ve put that down on my Eel Pie wishlist too - hopefully if we both have K&P will get it in.

Elsewhere:

Alice Clark - S/T
Griot Galaxy - Kins
Edy Star - Sweet Edy
The Studio One Showcase Boxset (another Soul Jazz goodie)
Johnny Osbourne - Nightfall
Some Roots Radics dub LP I forget the name of (12 inches of dub or summit like that?)

Honestly though RSD selections were about 98% cack - very tempted to give the day itself a miss again and wait a few weeks after once the prices start to tumble. But knowing me I’ll head up West (or to Twickenham) and pick ‘em all up.

It does feel like a bit of an effort sometimes but to be honest, I generally love the day and the vibe is usually very good no matter where you go. Might bump into you in a Q somewhere.

So... is anyone bothering this year? If so, what did you get?

Might show up to a shop, but no hard plans.

I was, but then after a curry last night and a rather out-of-character bout of insomnia I decided to jump in my car and queue up from 6.30am at a little record shop in Winchester. Picked up everything I wanted (and mentioned above) and a couple of extra things that caught my eye over the last few days:

First time I’ve ever bothered going early doors, and glad I did. Was 10th in, by the time I left the shop at 8.20 the shelves were almost bare, aside for copies of Trout Mask Replica and some Britpop gubbins.

Oh shit, that's today. I just got back from vacation at 230 in the morning last night and have so much to do around the apt (and taxes). Hope I have the time and energy to get to Amoeba.

Drool

Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad

I miss Amoeba. Half my record collection is from there. I even have a bag of theirs hanging on my wall.

Couldn't attend, giant ass exam on Monday that covers some neuro, psychiatry, and OB/GYN and I'm currently locking myself in a library.
