Although I have a deep love in 1950’s early 1960’s rock ‘n roll particularly DOOWOPS when it comes to albums I am so excited that your site discovered me! Albums are the source of where all the great jazz resides. A great number just immediately hits my inner core....a religious experience. Certainly many jazz artists had to be connecting with a higher source for their inspiration and creativity . Perhaps some were under the false belief that it was the effect of smack or mj
As examples of my likes there is the entire Time Out by Brubeck album. The entire album by Ella and Sachmo. The entire album by Cannonball Adderly and Nancy Wilson. But then there are tunes that could be taken from albums:
1. A Taste of Honey Martin Denny
2. Killer Joe Quincy Jones
3. Suavecito Malo
4. Harlem River Drive Bobby Humphreys
5. My Favorite Things John Coltrane (Actually my favorite thing)
6. Autumn in NY MJQ
7. Astrid Gilberto and “the sax player” (Senior Moment)
8. Parchment Farm by Mose Allison
I would like to connect to many of you out there who want to share their passion with me.
Always great to welcome another Jazz lover. I love most jazz (sub genres and eras), but my real sweet spot is the hard bop era from the late 50s through the mid 60s.
