I figure he'll continue doing shows (at least by the looks of his recent feed). Just saying I'm not holding out on a sequel album. Hoping for a handful of hip-hop records in the 2020's to follow a similar style... despite its homerun success, I actually haven't seen too much influence drip from To Pimp A Butterfly (little bit, but not a lot). Could see some similar styles coming out of the UK/US in the oncoming years, especially with the jazz surges of late.

MITH by Lonnie Holley |
Think you did, but if it's any consultation, that album was nearly my nom.

Good to know you loved it too. Such a moving representation of the state of the world. _________________ http://jonnyleather.com

I really enjoyed that album as well.
Last year I took late nominations and reconfigured the brackets accordingly, but at the moment I don't have as much mental bandwidth to do that kind of thing, so I went with a hard deadline. Sorry to those who were affected (a few of whom have PMed me). I hope you will consider participating in some or all of the matches, but understand if not. _________________ Add me on RYM

Is it me or all these albums pretty dark so far?! Like, is there something bad happening politically?!
It's like the Reagan/Thatcher years all over again.

I do believe there are some albums that are more happy and more relaxing compared to some of the play in's.
Bay had Golden Hour and that's not a dark record.
My pick isn't a dark record.
And there are probably others that are more bright and welcoming.
