Nah, even I was rooting for Lebron (whom I do not like or want to succeed) over Houston's microball as Houston's microball if successful would fuck over centers in the league.

Seems we're on the same page here, but I don't think microball is that hurtful for the NBA. If we look at small ball and microball as two separate but related things (and I think we should), then small ball was dominating the league some 6-7 years ago when LBJ/Bosh played as 4 and 5 and won the ring. Microball ala Rockets on the other hand requires very specific personnel, like PJ Tucker, Westbrook and RoCo. I don't think there's enough undersized players who could play like those three do, and I don't think microball is a huge threat for centers in the league, or at least not more of a threat than regular small ball. _________________ Finally updated the overall chart
Right, as somebody who casually enjoys basketball but didn't grow up in a country in which it forms any real part of the culture, I would love to know what you're talking about. Could somebody please explain the tactical nuances of "microball" and "small ball" in language that a relative layman might understand? _________________ 2021 in full effect. Come drop me some recs. Essentially its the removal of the fundamental concept of a traditional/orthodox front court (this is your centers and forwards) and utilizing agility and spacing as being more at benefit to a team than height/shot-blocking. When people talk about small ball experiments we have the value of it working in the 2010s Golden State Warriors and the 2019-20 season of the Houston Rockets in it not working. When people say microball we're talking about the Houston Rockets because they took it a step further from the Warriors. Here's another video:
I'm 11 of 12 if Clippers beat Denver (I got Miami/Milwaukie wrong like almost everyone else, and Milwaukie was my choice to rep the East in the Finals, so I'm screwed there too). But my champ pick the Lakers are looking like the best team even if I think a match up with them and the Clippers is probably 50/50.
Lakers over Clippers in 7
Boston over Miami in 7 (was Milwaukie over Boston in 7)
Wow - Clips really wet the bed. Didnt even get to the dream match up with the Lakers. Kinda upset (because it wouldve been amazing; probably the most exciting high-tension match up since Cavs vs Golden State's 7 game 2016 Finals). But it's a little bit funny too: for all the smack talk/predictions by sports announcers (and whoever else) that the Clips were the best team all year (even when their results didnt necessarily show it) and "Kawhi is coming for LeBron's crown", etc, they didnt even make it to the series against them. Their main weakness (and the reason I picked the Lakers over them) was inconsistency -- lack of chemistry/sustained identity as a team -- and that they dont produce enough easy shots. The Lakers are a phenomenal passing team that gets tons of open/easy shots and this is hard to keep up with when theyre hitting them no matter how much depth or how talented you are. Turns out Denver was a little bit too much for them as well. Jokic is really cementing himself as a force to be reckoned with. Murray is no joke either. Jokic vs Davis should be fascinating. Davis is a defensive monster and can really turn it up when he needs to. Wondering if he can limit Jokic or not. _________________ Best Classical Best Films Best Paintings
