Thanks for the recommendation, Jeff! Much appreciated! Added to my listening queue
Just heard a Sleater-Kinney interview on NPR’s “Morning Edition”, discussing the new album. You can replay the interview here:

Ciao! Paolo, nice to hear from you! Enjoying any fun vacation trips this summer?
I just had a look at your 1994 chart (as usual, a nice eclectic variety)... I may need to give Iris DeMent another try (her 2nd album?), I notice she's appearing on a LOT of charts _________________ Now Playing: the albums of 2004

Ciao! I've been working a lot lately, I think I'll not have any vacation trips until February and then I'll go back to India for 5 weeks I hope.
I love Iris, her second album is awesome; "sweet is the melody" is just breathtaking:

p.s. also "troublesome waters" is beautiful. _________________ Not Talulah?

Listening to "Troublesome Waters" now, and I liked the video link you sent. Her voice I could probably get used to, kinda reminding me of a mellower Dolly Parton. What I hear now is certainly more pleasant than the Karen Dalton album we discussed a while back!!

Step 3. Compile a "Wish-List" for each chart.
As we peruse the CSV list of BEA albs in Rank order, and/or Alphabetical order, titles are selected / designated for our listening queue (which in 1994 have yielded for me ~250 titles, so far).
But it doesn't end there...
Step 4. Do Yer Research (beyond what's currently listed on BEA)!
The info on BEA is only accurate (or aiming towards completion) when we constructively add and/or update our own favorite albums...as needed.
Outside sources of discographies are essential for gathering up lists of *missing* albums; to update BEA's database.
Personally, I enjoy browsing RYM for specific year rankings... and Discogs.com is crucial for cataloging specific label output. But other year-end list are available on various websites & blogspots, etc...
I can't recommend Pitchfork, because they tend to lean favorably towards the "indie" styles of which I'm least interested (to say it politely!!) ... but personal tastes will prevail in the process of uploading album info!! So it's all good!

Question: When it comes to identifying the correct release date for an album... which site is generally more reliable or accurate? If Discogs and RYM differ, is Allmusic.com a trustworthy tie-breaker?

I don't like Allmusic at all. Wiki is my tie breaker normally, or I try to get photos of the original album and I try to see if there is the year of release on the album cover. _________________ Not Talulah?

Yes! Wikipedia is another good resource, and I agree Allmusic is a bit annoying with all the pop-up ads (if/when I check their listings... I'm usually closing the browser window pretty quick). 100% agree on getting a look at the original pressings! Thanks Paolo!
