I did too. I was pretty excited when I heard it on the radio.

There's some merit to the statement: "hear one of her songs you've heard them all" because she does lack some dynamic.

Having said that I typically don't like albums that are super bland/single dimensional, yet I love born to die.

A bit disappointed in listening to more records from her because I did feel like I wanted her to grow musically more. She's no Fiona Apple.

Haven't heard her new record.

I will say she's more interesting to me than like 1000 other artists from 2010s.

Haha, the main reason I said that is because Lana has a total of like, 2 solo writing credits; whereas, Chan Marshall is an actual singer-songwriter and musician.

And Paul McCartney has zero solo writing credits for The Beatles Wink

EDIT: She has solo credits on 9/13 tracks from her first album (pre-fame), fwiw.

Yeah, Lizzy Grant was a loser, which is why they had to bring in some help.

You're talking like she's some kind of industry plant. Her first album was on an indie label. No one knew who she was until Video Games went viral. It was the first successful song for both her and her co-writer.

Really leaning hard here on the "she deserves no artistic credit for her success" trope that is used to discredit every female pop singer who co-writes her music. Get some new material.

Her father, Robert Grant, helped with the marketing of the album, which was available for purchase on iTunes for a brief period before being withdrawn. According to David Kahne, who produced Grant and Label owner David Nichtern, Grant bought the rights back from her label, 5 Points, as she wanted it out of circulation. In an interview, Nichtern stated: "Her and her new manager came in and said, 'We want to get this off the market. We’re going for a completely new deal. We’ll buy you out of the deal'. So we made a separation agreement".

Yeah, I think she's one of the most obvious one's in the business.

Yeah, I don't really care if she's a woman or not, if I need to bring up a male counterpart to not sound sexist, then I'll call out Drake, for all of the connections he had in the entertainment and music industry before he even picked up a mic. (Not to mention the ghostwriting accusations.)

Whew! Good thing I don't find her attractive either, or I may be in trouble.
